Description:

The canal is a great opportunity to move your skills from the pool to an outdoor sheltered environment. We vary which route we take each week taking a gentle strolling pace along the canal.

To enter the site a barrier code is required, we will send an email containing the barrier code to those who have signed up. The meeting place for this session is outside the B3C boat store, we therefore advise that you park in the car park by the campsite field (when you go through the barrier turn right and drive past the back of the canal centre buildings to reach the car park).

Please aim to arrive by 6:30 pm, so that we can have everyone on the water by 7:00 pm at the latest in order to make the most of the light. Basingstoke Canal Canoe Club have kindly agreed to let use use their boats for these sessions, so all equipment you require should be available on site (you are of course welcome to bring your own boat / equipment though).

Our volunteers will do the best they can to get you on the water as soon as is possible, however you should only enter the water once you have, registered, a volunteer has ensured you have adequate and correctly fitted safety equipment and a senior volunteer has said it is safe to do so. Everyone is responsible for helping to return and sponge down the equipment at the end of the session before heading home.
