Description:
To celebrate Halloween we’ll be be joining Basingstoke Canal Canoe Club for a spooky night time paddle on the Basingstoke canal. The club rarely paddles in the dark so this will be a chance to experience a new type of paddling. You may also come dressed up for the occasion in a Halloween costume, provided it is safe for paddling in (this will need to be assessed prior to you getting on the water – please do not wear anything which will impair your ability to paddle / get out of your kayak safely, or significantly limit your vision).
The club will provide glow sticks or other suitable lights for everyone to wear, though if you have a head torch please do bring it in case it’s needed.
B3C have rented the canal centre hall and will be putting on food, hot drinks, and Halloween themed games after the paddle. We’re welcome to join them for this, but they have asked those who partake to pay £5.00 towards the cost of hall hire and food. If you would like to partake in the food & games please let us know by the end of the day on Friday 18th October.
Kit/Equipment Hire: Basingstoke Canal Canoe Club have kindly agreed to let use use their equipment for this trip, so all equipment you require should be available on site (you are of course welcome to bring your own boat / equipment though).
