until 26/05/2022 at 5pm\n\nSchedule: Meet at 9am\, aiming to be off the wa
ter around 3pm.\n\nType: Tidal Touring Trip\n\nSuitability: Paddlers requi
re to be capable of capsizing with a spray deck safely\, as well as be con
fident going a reasonably long distance as well as able to paddle against

 ham-by-Sea\, West Sussex BN43 5LT (view map)\n\nFood: Please bring a drink
and snacks for the journey.\n\nDescription:\n\nThe Adur is a river in Sus
sex\, England\; it gives its name to the Adur district of West Sussex.\n\n
At low tide the River Adur cuts a narrow fast running channel through the
mud flats in the middle of Shoreham-by-Sea as it rushes out to sea through
the two long piers that mark the entrance to Shoreham Harbour.\n\nThe riv
er is at its most interesting at mid-tide when half the mud flats are reve
aled. The mud flats become a roost for gulls and other birds\, especially
during the winter. Waders and birds on the mud include Ringed Plover\, Dun
lins and Lapwing\, which are all commonly seen in the colder months. Redsh
anks sound the first warning at the anticipation of danger. Boats and wood
en posts are occupied by Cormorants fanning their wings after feeding on e
els and flatfish.\n\nKit/Equipment Hire: \n\nEquipment is always available
for use at official club activities however there is no equipment stored
onsite for these events\, so if you require to equipment please complete a
hire request. We highly recommend where possible that you are able to tra
nsport your own kit\, however understand not everyone has a van or roof ra
ck especially those new to the sport\, if this is the case ensure you fill
in your request soon as possible. Equipment should be collected at the We
dnesday Mixed/Open (pool\, lido\, canal) Session before the event and retu
rned the following Wednesday after. You can read more about our equipment\
 , hire and usage here.\n\n&nbsp\;
